Join curator Katie Ackrill for a tour of Leslie Cole: Recording Conflict in the Second World War. In this tour, visitors will gain insight into Cole’s work as an official war artist. In the first half of the tour, Katie will discuss the government commissioned war artists’ scheme, and its impact on art in the collection at Museum & Art Swindon. The second half will focus on Cole’s important wartime commissions, primarily through loans from the Imperial War Museums.
Katie Ackrill is a Collections and Exhibitions Officer at Museum & Art Swindon, and the curator of Leslie Cole: Recording Conflict in the Second World War.
