Getting involved

Public workshops, talks, tours, demonstrations and events

We run a programme of activities to help visitors and groups discover the Museum & Art Swindon collections and exhibitions.  Visit the What’s On page for more information and sign up to the Museum & Art Swindon newsletter at the bottom of this page to keep up-to-date.

Open to community group visits

Community Group Visits

We warmly welcome visits from community groups of any shape and size!  We offer self-guided visits or bespoke facilitated visits which can include tours, talks and workshops. Any visit for a group of over 10 people MUST be booked in advance.  Our smaller galleries hold up to 10 people, so you will need to plan for managing your group around the spaces.

To discuss a facilitated or self-guided visit for over 10 people, please contact the Learning & Engagement Team – MASLearning@swindon.gov.uk

Community Group Outreach

The Learning Team would love to hear from you if you are a community group interested in an outreach workshop or working in partnership on a project.

We are particularly interested in supporting communities to play a more active role in helping shape Museum & Art Swindon.  We are currently running a number of co-production projects, working alongside local groups as experts supporting our development.  See below for examples of our past collaborations with community groups.

Exploring the Art Collection with The Harbour Project

Our Collections & Exhibitions Team worked with a group from the Harbour Project who have experience as refugees and asylum-seekers. Together, they explored artworks from the Museum & Art Swindon collection through the lens of their life experiences, sharing stories and ideas.
