Solidarity Skirt a community engagement project at Museum & Art Swindon.
Find out moreOur Community Engagement Programme celebrates the town’s diverse voices by building connections, sharing stories and creating opportunities to learn, grow and get involved.
The aim of the community engagement programme at Museum & Art Swindon is to represent the broad range of individuals and communities that exist in Swindon. We want to build relationships, make connections, and support people with gaining skills and experience, while providing opportunities for sharing history, heritage and culture.
We have worked in partnership with City of Sanctuary, Live Well and Warm Welcome teams, the Harbour Project and co-developed and delivered two youth programmes for young people aged 16 to 25.
We have also worked in partnership, supporting work with Prime Theatre on their Arts Award programmes and independent artist, Felicity Tattersall on the Shouting Softly Project, which explores women’s history in Swindon.
As we build relationships, people will become more involved in decision making and shaping activities, programming and exhibitions in our cultural spaces.
